“Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15.” ~Beto O’Rourke
Washington state democrats share Beto’s sentiment, and they are coming for your guns. Below are action items for 2 different anti-2A bills currently active in our state legislature.
ESHB-1630: Establishing restrictions on the possession of weapons in certain locations.
*Please note: MUST ACT BY 2/21 AT 8:30am
ESHB-1630 prohibits any firearm at school board meetings off-campus or at municipal meetings, including CPL holders. This bill would also prohibit open-carry at election-related places and prohibit CPL holders from ballot-counting centers.
ESHB-1705: Concerning ghost guns.
*Please note: MUST ACT BY 2/21 AT 8:30am
ESHB-1705 restricts the centuries-old practice of manufacturing firearms for personal use and self-defense by imposing requirements that far exceed those in federal law. It seeks to prohibit private individuals from possessing certain unregulated components commonly used by hobbyists to make their own firearms, as well as possessing currently legal firearms that don’t have serial numbers.
If you’d like to do more than have your position “noted for the legislative record”, this is the screen where you will take additional action. You can sign up to testify remotely (you’ll be on zoom and have 1-2 minutes to speak – prepare your statement ahead of time and speak to the most critical points) and you can submit written testimony.
You can also see who has signed in for a particular bill. Click the bill you want to look at (I’ve selected ESHB 1630) and then click the green button below that says, “see who has signed in for this agenda item.”
