It’s Been 6 Years Since Obama’s “Transgender Bathroom” Directive

6 years ago yesterday President Obama gave a directive for all government schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matched their gender identity or that schools would be in violation of federal law.

This letter/directive was not legally binding but suggested to government schools across the nation that if they deny transgender students the right to use the restroom of their choice, they would be non-compliant with the federal law known as Title IX. If they are in violation of Title IX, they could lose federal funding or face a federal lawsuit. We can be certain that Washington state, along with many other radical left run states in America, celebrated this move by the Obama administration.

6 years ago, I wrote on Facebook:

It’s not just about transgender. Taking a stand against this does not make me a hateful homophobe. In fact, the opposite is true.

Feelings are fickle. Chromosomes not so much. How about better mental health care in this country. The statistics show that something like 99% of transgendered individuals have a history of abuse in their past. Coincidence, I think not.

Play this one out. All the way. It brings madness and chaos (more of it) to our already broken society.

Madness and chaos. This is where we are today. It’s a runaway train and if we do not make our stand now, we will have no chance in righting this ship.

Today in Washington schools we have gone so far from allowing students to use the bathroom they want. Today, as part of Washington’s “gender inclusive schools”, teachers and staff are directed by the OSPI (state superintendent) to keep a student’s gender identity secret from parents. You daughter could be using male pronouns at school and being called a boy’s name and the school and staff will do everything they can to keep it from you. And this is within the law here in Washington (and many other states).

Maybe you don’t speak up about this much because you don’t want to be called names and accused of being a hater, a homophobe, a transphobe, etc. We can no longer afford to sit back in silence for fear of what others will think or say about us. We have lost many of our parental rights in the name of “gender inclusion” and the radical left will continue to push this agenda as far as they possibly can.

It’s time to speak up. We can speak truth and facts in a loving, respectful way. We can’t control how people respond to it, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t say it. Our children who are growing up in a society speaking lies deserve us for us to be outspoken truth tellers.
