Call unto ME

Call unto ME

Jeremiah 33:3

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

We have the privilege of calling on God and knowing that He hears us. He invites us to lay our burdens on Him and desires to spend time with us.

In Matthew 7:7-8, the Bible says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Prayer is asking and believing that God will do what He has said He will and trust in His promises. The most important thing to remember when asking, is to ask according to His will. God will answer every prayer with “yes,”  “no,” or “wait.”

Prayer is earnestly seeking the Lord and to welcome Him in all matters of life. We will all go through different stages of life; good times, difficult times, happy times, sad times. Through every stage God tells us to seek Him and He will be with us along life’s journey.

In Luke 11:5-10, we read the story of a man who goes to his friend at midnight asking for bread to set before his guests that are traveling to his home. The man knocks and knocks and his friend says that his door is shut and the kids are sleeping and he cannot help. The man continues knocking because he is in need and the friend arises only from being annoyed that the man will not leave. In verse 8 the Bible says “I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of the importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.”  God doesn’t get annoyed by our “knocking,” He invites us to knock on the door every single time we have a need.

God will always answer our prayers at the right time, in His will as we abide in His Word and as we stay in fellowship with Him.

Asking shows our hope in prayer, seeking shows our heart in prayer, knocking shows we have to have God’s help in prayer.

I encourage you today to call unto our Heavenly Father and seek His face.
